All in the Timing will be produced on the Center for Fine and Performing Arts mainstage this November! The College’s students, faculty and staff as well as the general community are eligible to audition. Auditions will take place at 7 p.m. on Monday, September 12 and Tuesday, September 13 in the Center for Fine and Performing Arts in Room 105.
Constitution Day commemorates the formation and signing of the U.S. Constitution on September 17, 1787. To celebrate, the Department of Humanities and Student Activities will be hosting the following events on Wednesday, September 14th at Heritage Hall in the Culinary Arts Center:
10 a.m. – “The Struggle for a More Perfect Union” with Dr. Steve Culbertson
The preamble to The Constitution states the intent to create “A more perfect union”; however, this was a point of contention between our political leaders as a period of compromises and conflict ensued between 1820-1865.
11 a.m. – “Constitution Day and Military Service” with TSgt David Morris
Join TSgt David Morris discuss Constitution Day and being in the military.
6 p.m. – Exhibition of Edison Phonographs and Recordings with Dr. Steve Culbertson
The Constitution affords Congress the power “To promote the progress of science and useful arts” via patent and copyright process. The early years of recorded sound provide a glimpse into this authority in practice.
