This date was chosen to honor the anniversary of the signing of the Higher Education Act (HEA) of 1965. The HEA is key legislation that lead to the creation of college access programs like TRIO Student Support Services.
Owens Community College will be hosting a virtual film screening and creative writing event that will give students an opportunity to decompress, watch and discuss three award-winning short films that explore the topic of mental health, and connect with wellness resources available to them.

The Center for Campus and Community Connections is partnering with the Toledo Animal Rescue to provide visiting friendly adoptable pets (cats and kittens, dogs and puppies, guinea pigs) to campus where students can be invited to visit and spend time with them for stress relief.
