“Dissecting the Meaning of Community” responds to the events of 2020 that have redefined our social world. The two bodies of work will occupy different spaces but the works reflect similar questions. Community can be defined by place, identity, affinity, affiliation and is more complex than surveys can portray. The way people talk about community is different with the age of social media, the internet and a global pandemic. Fearnside’s and Spruce’s work questions concepts of community, the impact of events on community, and invite viewers to consider how they conceive of community.

CDA To Associate Degree Information Session @ Founders Hall
Jul 21 @ 6:00 pm – 9:00 pm

The YWCA of Northwest Ohio is hosting a public meeting about its new “Y Owens?” program with Owens Community College, which streamlines early childhood education training between the two parties. Funding for the YWCA NWO’s Child Development Associate (CDA) tuition, textbooks, and other training supplies for up to 20 students who are not currently working in a licensed child care facility comes from the latest round of ARPA grants provided to Child Care Resource and Referral agencies to support Workforce Recruitment and Retention efforts in Ohio. Those currently working in state-licensed child centers or family child care programs may also apply for scholarships from the Ohio Child Care Resource and Referral Association (OCCRRA).
