Support the Owens Express women’s basketball team and celebrate the NJCAA Division III National Runners-up women’s volleyball team! The volleyball team will be recognized at halftime of the basketball game against Bryant and Stratton which begins at 5:30 p.m. Wednesday, December 7 in the SHAC.
President Somerville will recognize the team before their introductions and then will award the players and coaches their medals and trophy. Cupcakes will be in the lobby following the recognition.
The women’s volleyball team made it to the national championship game the past four seasons. This year, the team had an overall record of 29-7 and 13-1 in the OCCAC. The team won its 17th OCCAC title since 2001 and this was the 6th straight year the Express qualified for the national championships. In addition, Coach Sonny Lewis was inducted into the NJCAA Volleyball Hall of Fame at the national championship this year.
