Nicolas Carter is a talented and versatile international harpist, born in Minnesota and raised in Paraguay where he learned to play the Paraguayan harp. Carter creates unique performances blending his musicianship and skills as an artist/storyteller. Carter has been composing, recording, teaching and performing for more than 25 years and has played in the U.S., Latin America, Europe and Israel.

The workshop will provide interested parties with information regarding how to locate Owens Foundation Scholarship materials online, how to complete the online application (and by when), and ideas as to how to approach the Personal Statement portion of the application.

Dave Stevens is a congenital amputee, born without legs, who developed a passion for playing sports without adaptive modifications. With his drive and determination, he became a three-sport varsity athlete in high school, and was awarded a scholarship to play college football. As the only legless player in college football history, his success lead to a tryout with the Dallas Cowboys and a minor league baseball contract, followed by a 20+ year career in sports broadcasting with ESPN. Dave has lived a life overcoming the word “never” and shares his amazing message which can include the ups and downs of being handicapped, overcoming drug addiction, coping with adoption, and losing his parents at a young age.
