Since 2014, Jill of All Trades has been providing hands-on experiences to young women in grades 9-12 to introduce them to the possibilities of a career in skilled trades including advanced manufacturing and transportation. The day-long event aims to inspire these women by providing a safe and engaging learning environment through workshops led by industry and college mentors.
Owens Community College is proud to be the first host of Jill of All Trades in the United States. This program will help to address the skilled trades workforce needs of the future. By introducing young women to non-traditional trades and apprenticeships, this collaborative endeavor will allow us to send a consistent message to young women, increase college enrollment in trades and apprenticeships, retain skilled trades workers, grow capacity and address gender diversity.
