Childcare Leadership: What does it take to run a center?

What is it like to run a childcare center? Lisa is excited to share her experiences about what a President/Director of an early learning center does.

About the presenter: Lisa Nowak has been the President/Director of Maria Early Learning Center in Toledo, Ohio for 8 years. She is an Owens Alumni and has a BA in Psychology as well as a master’s degree in Adult Education. Her professional career started in a toddler room 21 years ago. She also has experience in preschool and PreK classrooms. Lisa is extremely passionate about her work and enjoys helping others in the early childhood community. She is Level 3 Trauma Certified through OCCRRA, has a 3-year-old daughter, worked as a foster parent and is a member of two advisory committees for local colleges.

About the presenter: Elizabeth Tore is a professional grant writer, English teacher, Star Trek fanatic, cancer survivor, and mother of two. She earned a BA in English & Comparative Literature, a BS in Secondary Education, a MEd in Higher Education Administration & Teaching College English, and a Certificate in Nonprofit Executive Leadership. Elizabeth’s volunteerism includes grief support for families who have experienced a significant death, family homelessness, Girl Scouts, and the American Cancer Society. Her hobbies are sewing, gardening, cooking, reading, and listening to audiobooks.
