Speaker: A Little Black Book on Confronting Anti-Blackness @ Education Center 111

Victoria Alexander is on a mission to raise critical consciousness in students to help them explore their racial and social identities, build anti-racist communities, create social change. Through exploring anti-Blackness, this program focuses on personal reflection and growth opportunities to combat internalized anti-Blackness and its manifestations on various levels.

Student Workshop: How to Build a Healthy Brain @ Heritage Hall 137

Students are invited to sign up for the workshop, How to Build a Healthy Brain by Kimberley Wilson, by emailing counselingservices@owens.edu. The workshop will be held Wednesdays from October 20 through November 10 at 11 a.m. in Heritage Hall 137.

Topics: Session 2 (October 27)

  • How physical activity protects the brain
  • Using the breath
  • Understanding emotions

Note: all sessions will include practical tips for personal as well as academic application (for example, how better sleep can improve grades…how regular exercise can improve grades).
