The Language Laboratory

As part of the Humanities Department, the Language Lab offers Owens Community College students a rich environment to enhance second language acquisition. Students may use the Language Lab to work on listening comprehension and speaking skills, as well as receptive and expressive skills for American Sign Language, to do research and writing or to participate in tutoring sessions with the Lab staff. There are computer workstations for access to Microsoft Office and online resources.

To complement the courses offered through the department, the laboratory has textbook companion materials, dictionaries and Rosetta Stone access for Spanish.

FREE language tutoring is available, as well as laboratory practice materials for language classes.

The Language Lab, located in 1110 Founders Hall, offers tutoring in ESL, Spanish and American Sign Language. For walk-in hours and availability, call (567) 661-7845.
