Vice President/Treasurer and Chief Financial Officer
Laurie Sabin serves as vice president/treasurer and chief financial officer for Owens Community College. She is responsible for the Collegeís financial status, budget development, financial analysis of operations, insurance review, return on investment analysis, operational loans and leases, strategic planning and the direction and leadership of Business Affairs. Activities under Business Affairs include accounts payable, auxiliary services, bookstore, budgets, building and grounds maintenance, capital planning, construction and renovation, energy conservation and sustainability, general accounting, investments, payroll, the Collegeís purchase card program, safety and security, student accounts, and Student Health and Activities Center (SHAC).
Sabin has over 27 years of accounting and financial experience. From September 2006 through May of 2013, she was director of Finance and Budgeting and assistant treasurer for the College. Prior to 2006, Sabin worked in municipal government and manufacturing, serving eight years as finance director for the City of Rossford and eight years in cost accounting, new product development and credit and claims at Calphalon Corporation. Sabin received a bachelorís degree in computer systems from the University of Toledo. She is a member of the Ohio Association of Community College Fiscal Officers and has served on several state consortiums for the development of funding models and shared services.
