Department of Fine and Performing Arts

Fine Art Concentration, AA (Owens Code: FINA)

The Fine Art concentration is designed for students planning to transfer to a four-year college or university to complete a bachelor degree in Fine Art. This program provides its majors with a variety of studio coursework.

Fine Art majors will take courses in painting, drawing, life drawing, printmaking, design, sculpture, ceramics, digital drawing and art history. Nearly all art courses are approved for guaranteed transfer under the Ohio Board of Regents Transfer Assurance Guide. All studio faculty have Masters Degrees of Fine Art and also exhibit as artists. With an average class size of 10-12 students, majors will receive individual attention to hone their skills.

Our facility includes the excellent Walter E. Terhune Gallery that features a juried student show and faculty exhibits each academic year while showcasing local and regional artists. Visiting artist lectures also provide students the opportunity to meet prominent artists while learning about their work and life as an active artist.
