IST 175 - Networking Technologies
Includes fundamentals of data communications and computer networks. Emphasis is on network analysis, design, management and application including both technical and managerial aspects. Also includes the basics of current protocols, equipment and technologies. Students learn fundamentals of a network operating system including creating users and establishing network security. A simulated environment is used. A general understanding of operating systems and computer hardware is recommended. Students are strongly advised to complete IST 133 and/or IST 134 or have the A+ certification before taking this class.
